LAS VEGAS — Companies often use the Clean Show to unveil new products or services to the industry. Here is a sampling reported to American Laundry News:

Proteus Solutions: Proteus™ Activator Washing System

Proteus Solutions LLC, a joint venture between Standard Textile Co. and Diversey, presented the Proteus™ Activator Washing System.

The system combines a unique activator unit with proprietary chemistry to deliver a fully integrated laundry cleaning and sanitizing solution. The unit utilizes electro-chemically activated water to generate cleaning agents that are combined with specially formulated chemicals. Designed to fit within a customer’s existing facilities, the system makes water work harder to clean fabrics as well as, or even better than, current methods, the company claims.

The system is backed by Proteus Solutions’ deep knowledge of textiles and the laundry process to provide customers with a custom solution for their commercial laundry needs.

PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. — Jimmy Buffett’s multimillion-dollar, 162-room Margaritaville Beach Hotel that opened this summer is dedicated to providing its guests a special, luxurious experience.

Hotel employees believe success is found in the details and pride themselves on supplying meticulously clean suites and bright, white linens. And because the quality and cleanliness of these linens is one of the hotel’s signature amenities, the facility’s laundry was a critical component of the housekeeping infrastructure plan.

HOUSTON — An on-premise laundry can sometimes be put in as an afterthought during a hotel’s construction, but when a planned hotel is to be connected to one of the biggest convention centers in the country, the OPL takes on added importance — and is given the opportunity to spread out a little.

The Hilton Americas-Houston laundry covers 17,000 square feet in the hotel’s basement, making it the largest in-house laundry in the Hilton family of hotels, according to Clifton Smith, the Houston hotel’s director of laundry.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — An extremely large piece of state-of-the-art technology required a wide berth as it was transported down the main streets of Johnson City and Binghamton to its new home at Bates Troy Inc., a provider of healthcare linen services.

The new batch tunnel washer, the first of its kind ever produced in New York state, was transported about 60 miles from manufacturer G.A. Braun of Syracuse, Bates Troy says.
