APIC’s Bjerke to Chair HLAC Board of Directors in 2011

FRANKFORT, Ill. — The Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) announced its Board of Directors for 2011 during its board meeting earlier this month.

Officers include Chairwoman Nancy Bjerke, BSN, RN, MPH, CIC, Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) representative; Vice Chairman Rocco Romeo, CEO, HLS Linen Services; and Secretary/Treasurer Rob Potack, vice president, Unitex Textile Rental Services.

Cintas Founder Farmer Retires as Chairman of the Board

CINCINNATI — Cintas Corp. founder Richard T. Farmer has retired as chairman of the board, assuming the role of chairman emeritus and remaining on the board of directors. The board elected Vice Chairman Robert J. Kohlhepp to replace him as chairman.

Farmer established Cintas Corp. in 1968. The company grew from a small uniform- and towel-supply company to the nation’s largest uniform company and a leading business-to-business services provider with sales approaching $4 billion annually, the company says.

UTSA Unmoved on Consolidation; TRSA Seeks Further Talks

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Uniform & Textile Service Association (UTSA) "lacks authority" to "delay" its Jan. 1 consolidation with the Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA), UTSA Chairman Jim Buik said Thursday in a letter to TRSA Chairman Michael Potack.
