Firm Developing No. California Commercial Laundry Plant on Spec

HAYWARD, Calif. — Western State Design, a full-service commercial laundry equipment distributor, will convert an existing 50,000-square-foot building here into a state-of-the-art commercial laundry for sale or lease to an operator, the company says.

The building site encompasses 3.87 acres and includes a 14,000-square-foot enclosed service yard. It is strategically located for effective distribution throughout Northern California.

ARAMARK's Mobile Fire Not As Costly As Initially Reported

MOBILE, Ala. — The July 10 fire at ARAMARK Uniform Services' Mobile, Ala., plant caused $200,000 in damage, primarily to garments and smaller pieces of equipment, an ARAMARK spokeswoman says, but the facility was operational and able to service all of its customers the next day.

The building used for sorting and storage was rented space and will be rebuilt. ARAMARK is moving to a temporary building a mile away until it's completed.
