ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Directors of the Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA) have launched a new committee structure, furthering the association’s reorganization with the Uniform & Textile Service Association (UTSA).

The new committee system has two divisions: Industry Committees and Board Committees. Industry Committees will be responsible for working on issues affecting textile service companies. Board Committees will focus on implementing bylaw directives and enhancing educational programming.

NEW ORLEANS — Clean ’09, the premier event for the commercial laundering, drycleaning and textile maintenance and rental industry, opened Thursday morning, just before 10 a.m., featuring a little New Orleans fare — a roving jazz band and Mardi-Gras-costumed character who handed out beads to attendees.

NEW ORLEANS — Members of the Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA) gathered here Wednesday afternoon for their first annual meeting since TRSA and the Uniform & Textile Service Association (UTSA) began to reorganize last year.

Outgoing TRSA Chairman of the Board Greg Jeltema, new Chairman Jeffrey Wright and President/CEO Roger Cocivera acknowledged that while much work on the “blending” has been completed, there is more yet to do.

NEW ORLEANS — The Clean Show returns to New Orleans next month for its first visit since 2001, bringing the textile care industry together here for the fourth time since the event was born 32 years ago.

NEW ORLEANS — I have visited New Orleans on several occasions, but this is the first time that I’ve seen Christmas decorations, or for that matter, Santa Claus marching in a jazz funeral. This is also the first time that I encountered weather here that wasn’t as warm as the Cajun cuisine.

NEW ORLEANS — Clean Show organizers are inviting other associations, including some international associations, to participate in the show’s educational program for the first time, in order to facilitate global involvement. Clean ’09 is slated for June 18-21 in New Orleans.

DALLAS – Safety was at the forefront of Tuesday's opening session of the Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA) Tech/Plant Summit, but attendees were also treated to a birth announcement of sorts.

The Val Verde auditorium at the Hilton DFW Lakes was filled to capacity when Roger Cocivera, TRSA president and CEO, welcomed attendees and announced the association’s plans to ramp up its efforts in promoting workplace safety.

WASHINGTON — Members and staff of the Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA) and the American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA) are prepping for their annual visit to our nation’s Capitol next month to meet with legislators and discuss issues of importance to our industry. They’ll meet May 7-8 at the Westin Embassy Row in Washington, and there’s no registration fee to attend.
