LAS VEGAS – Brady Industries reports that it has acquired the resort laundry division of southern Nevada commercial laundry service supplier Mission Industries. Terms were not announced.

Joining Brady’s linen division are 884 employees and three processing facilities. The acquisition brings Brady’s workforce to 2,011, making it one of the nation’s largest resort laundry service providers, the company says.

Brady will now process approximately 1 million pounds of laundry per day in its six Las Vegas facilities.

“I am thrilled to welcome Mission Industries to the Brady Industries family,” says Brady Industries CEO Travis Brady. “We believe in Las Vegas, and this acquisition provides us with the people and resources to continue to service our customers into the future.”

Headquartered in Las Vegas since 1947, Brady Industries is a third-generation, family-owned, full-line janitorial supply and commercial laundry services company.

Brady Linen Services was started in 2000 to address the demand for higher quality and service in the evolving Las Vegas market. It expanded steadily from its original 40,000-square-foot plant, opening a second facility in 2006 and a third in 2009.

LAS VEGAS — The Clean Executive Committee (CEC) announced sites and dates for the next three Clean Shows during a press conference earlier today. As reported Sunday by American Trade Magazines, New Orleans’ Morial Convention Center will host the event over three days in 2013.

In 2015, the Clean Show returns to Atlanta, which last hosted the exhibition in 1987. Las Vegas has been chosen to host the 2017 event.

Show dates are:

  • 2013 – June 21-23, 2013
  • 2015 – April 17-19, 2015
  • 2017 — June 19-22, 2017

The 2013 and 2015 dates reflect a more concise and efficient three-day format designed to give exhibitors and attendees a better value for their time and money invested in the Clean Show, the CEC says.

If the three-day experiment doesn’t work as well as hoped, the CEC could return to the four-day format, according to David Cotter, CEO of the Textile Care Allied Trades Association and Clean 2011 Chairman.

NEW ORLEANS — It’s never too early to plan. Clean Show planners Riddle & Associates announced this morning at an exhibitor meeting that the show will return to Las Vegas for its next appearance, with dates set for June 6-9, 2011.

This will be the fifth time that the Clean Show has been held in “Fabulous” Las Vegas. With this schedule, Las Vegas ties Chicago for most shows, and surpasses New Orleans, which has hosted four shows including 2009. Atlanta and Orlando have hosted the show twice, while Dallas took on the task once.

LAS VEGAS — When the red ribbon twisted silently to the floor Monday morning among boa feathers and soap bubbles, it signaled a milestone in the life of the Clean Show: It had officially turned 30.

Executives and board members from the six sponsoring associations, flanked by a bevy of beautiful showgirls, gathered at the exhibit hall’s main entrance to cut the ceremonial ribbon and welcome a steady stream of visitors to the World Educational Congress for Laundering and Drycleaning.

Clean, for short.

LAS VEGAS — One thing is certain about Las Vegas: it changes on an almost daily basis.

It’s not the same city that the laundry industry visited at Clean ’03, and definitely isn’t the same as it was for Clean ’97. It has grown from a small desert town to one of the fastest growing cities in the country.

Gone are the dark, velvet-walled hotels and casinos of Bugsy Siegel’s day. The new Las Vegas continues to add larger, more elaborate and elegant hotels and towering condominiums to its skyline.

And it was his vision to develop a state-of-the-art laundry facility to process quality linen on-site for his hotel guests.

His goal: Wow them.

November 2, 2006

CHICAGO — Voters in six states - Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Montana, Nevada and Ohio - will vote on ballot initiatives on Tuesday that would raise the minimum wage from $1 to $1.70 per hour above their current levels.

If the increases are approved, these states will join eight others that recently raised their minimums - including Pennsylvania, which voted this summer to boost the state's minimum wage by $2 to $7.15 beginning next year.
