Ecolab Named Among ‘Most Military-Friendly Employers’ in the United States

ST. PAUL, Minn. — G.I. Jobs magazine has named Ecolab Inc. one of the nation’s Top 50 Most Military-Friendly Employers.

The magazine chooses companies based on criteria that include the strength of their military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, and company policies toward National Guard and reserve service.

Hilton Americas-Houston Laundry Keeps Coming Up Big

HOUSTON — An on-premise laundry can sometimes be put in as an afterthought during a hotel’s construction, but when a planned hotel is to be connected to one of the biggest convention centers in the country, the OPL takes on added importance — and is given the opportunity to spread out a little.

The Hilton Americas-Houston laundry covers 17,000 square feet in the hotel’s basement, making it the largest in-house laundry in the Hilton family of hotels, according to Clifton Smith, the Houston hotel’s director of laundry.

UniFirst Donates Protective Shirts to Soldiers Serving in Iraq

WILMINGTON, Mass. — To help keep soldiers who are fighting in Iraq safer, uniform services provider UniFirst Corp. donated 450 custom flame-resistant (FR) T-shirts to the Army National Guard this month.

The donation — accepted on the military’s behalf by Operation Homefront, a national organization that collects private donations to U.S. soldiers — was the result of the Pentagon’s recent announcement that FR uniforms were to become standard issue for all U.S. troops serving in the Middle East as of this year.
