The importance of washer-extractors or tunnel washers paired with dryers to an institutional laundry or textile services company can’t be understated. Simply, no cleaning, no laundry.

But having the necessary cleaning equipment is only half the equation. If a laundry doesn’t have an effective means to transport soiled linen through its facility and transport clean linen to on-premise end-users or outside customers, then what’s the point?

Nonuniform Shelf Cart Styles Force One to Adapt

For years, various linen companies have irritated me by insisting on using their own color-coding system for scrubs, instead of a universal color code.

I realize one of the advantages to this system is that it makes it harder to switch business from one company to another. I learned a long time ago to live with this situation and actually had come to accept it as normal. A recent incident involving linen carts stirred my memory about this lack of standardization in the laundry industry.

What Do You Do With Laundry's Leftovers?

It seems like everywhere I go, someone is talking about how to protect the environment.

The Saturn car company is bragging about its assembly plant with zero landfill wastes and how good it is for the environment. This, of course, is easier to accomplish if you’re only an assembler of cars and not involved in the raw production of their parts.

To say the least, I think the ad is misleading. But still it points out that as a country and an industry, we’re all becoming more environmentally aware.
