LAUREL, Md. — The board of directors of the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) announced Monday that Chief Executive Officer William (Bill) Fisher is leaving his position at the association. Senior Vice President Mary Scalco will become acting CEO to ensure a seamless transition, DLI says.

“We would like to thank Bill for his years of service and dedication to the industry and our institute,” says DLI President Rick Kasperbauer. “His contributions have been enormous over the last four decades.”

RIPON, Wis. — Alliance Laundry Systems LLC has promoted Michael D. Schoeb to chief executive officer. All executive staff will report to Schoeb in his combined role as president and CEO.

Thomas F. L’Esperance will become vice chairman of the board of directors of parent company ALH Holding Inc. L’Esperance joined Alliance in 1996, having previously served as president of Amana Home Appliances and Caloric Corp. and as a senior executive of Raytheon Co. He will continue to serve as a director and will maintain his office here.

CINCINNATI — Cintas Corp. has partnered with Cincinnati-based Matthew 25: Ministries to provide humanitarian aid to victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. Cintas has donated more than 43,000 garments, nearly half of which are medical scrubs, for a total value of more than $330,000, the company says.

SEMINOLE, Fla. — Superior Uniform Group Inc. is reporting a 29% increase in net earnings for the third quarter of 2009 compared to the same period last year, as well as a 79% increase in comparison to the second quarter of 2009.

ST. LOUIS — Angelica Corp. is expanding its use of Ecolab’s AdvaCare 120 sanitizer/sour to all of its service centers nationwide. Angelica is the first major healthcare laundry processor to implement the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered oxygen bleach sanitizer throughout its service centers, the company claims.

NEW YORK — The U.S. Department of Labor has obtained a consent judgment ordering Party Rental Enterprises Inc. of Auburn, N.Y., doing business as Able Linen Service, and Daryle Logudice, the company’s chief executive officer, to compensate an employee who was fired for filing a complaint with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) about potentially unsafe conditions at the laundry.

CINCINNATI — Cintas Corp. has reached an agreement with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) pertaining to all automated and semiautomated laundry facilities under OSHA’s federal jurisdiction, the agency reports. The agreement resolves six cases relating to citations against Cintas for safety hazards at laundry facilities across the country, including hazards that led to the March 2007 death of Cintas worker Eleazar Torres-Gomez.

ROSWELL, Ga. — Investment funds managed by Patriarch Partners LLC has acquired all of the assets of Best Textiles International Ltd. from GHCL Inc. As part of the Textile Platform of the Patriarch portfolio of operating companies, the new company will be known as Best Textiles LLC.

“The acquisition of Best was a strategic decision, as the company exponentially enhances specific synergies with other textile operations within our platform,” says Lynn Tilton, chief executive officer of Patriarch Partners.

CINCINNATI — Cintas Corp., in conjunction with Washing Systems LLC (WSI), has become the first major industrial launderer to make a company-wide transition from a nonylphenol ethoxylate- (NPE) based detergent to a new, more environmentally friendly detergent in its industrial laundry facilities, Cintas says.

With more than 175 facilities in North America, Cintas has begun the transition in several of its locations and plans to be completely NPE-free by the end of 2008.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Jensen USA continues its reorganization here with the promotions of President Jens Voldbaek and Executive Vice President Simon Nield.

Voldbaek has assumed a new role as the director of sales activity in the Americas for parent company Jensen-Group, reporting directly to its chief executive officer, Jesper Jensen.

Nield, who was the managing director of Jensen UK before joining Jensen USA, takes over the operational duties of the Panama City facility and assumes the title of Jensen USA president.

MCDONOUGH, Ga. — Encompass Group has named Mike Spurlock as its first chief executive officer. Prior to this announcement, the company was led first by a board of directors and then by a three-man office of the president shared by board members Dave Huelsbeck, John Sleizer and Spurlock.
