CHICAGO — The American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES), the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) and the Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA) are busy preparing to host fall membership meetings.
ASHES and IEHA will conduct their annual conferences, while TRSA will gather its member leaders for the annual Joint Committee Meeting (JCM).
MISSION, Kan. — The American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA) elected a new board of directors at its fall member meeting in Las Vegas.
New officers include Steve Tinker of Gurtler Industries, president; Ed McCauley of United Hospital Services, first vice president; Barb Fordyce of Foussard Montegue, second vice president; Brad Bushman of Standard Textile, treasurer; and Nancy Jenkins, executive director and secretary.
CINCINNATI — The drive to provide luxury beds in the hotel industry is no longer a novelty. It’s been nearly three years since J.D. Power and Associates announced in its 2004 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study that hotels were finding great success in marketing luxury bedding.
While the industry has since moved on to monitoring the “next” trend, many guests have come to expect high-quality bedding as a routine part of their lodging experience.
I started using a washer-applied barrier re-treatment product in 1997. I’m surprised by how poorly this product has been accepted in the market. I realize that the various products are pricey but feel that if the case for their use were properly laid out, everyone would use them.
