Continental Girbau Linen-Handling Equipment

Continental Girbau has introduced a full complement of linen-handling equipment, including the FL-LITE multi-lane flatwork folder, the AP-LITE drop stacker, and the FT-LITE drywork folder. The company’s aim is to assist higher-volume laundry facilities, such as casinos, hotels, athletic facilities, healthcare operations and convention centers, in improving productivity and quality, while lowering labor costs.

The FL-LITE works with sheets, pillowcases, tablecloths and napkins. It also can fold duvets and bedspreads using a blade-assisted cross fold adaptable to item thickness. The folder adjusts to specific needs—performing up to two primary folds on one or two equal lanes and cross folds on one middle lane—and has a processing speed of up to 164 feet per minute.

The AP-LITE features a flap-drop system and an upper belt. It stacks items according to a selected quantity and number of items per stack. The machine then discharges the stacks onto a delivery conveyor. Once connected to the FL-LITE, the AP-LITE can process up to 100 stacks of 10 per hour.

The FT-LITE can help increase productivity when used for small- and large-scale dry goods, including washcloths, hand towels, bath towels, surgical packs, bath mats and blankets, Continental says. It adapts to work with most ironers, utilizes an advanced touch-screen control, and folds up to 1,000 items per hour.
