WICHITA FALLS, Texas — The assets of bankrupt Washex Inc., including the rights to the “Washex” name, file cabinets filled with engineering prints and machine drawings, and other assets will go on the auction block here next week.
Investment Recovery Services in conjunction with Cincinnati Industrial Auctioneers will conduct the Dec. 15-16 sale at the former Washex headquarters, 5000 Central Freeway, in Wichita Falls. The sale comes less than a year after Washex, a former manufacturer of washer-extractors, dryers and other laundry equipment, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Product line and intellectual property to be offered Dec. 15 include the rights to the Washex name and the Washex.com domain name; machine files; engineering prints and machine drawings; and some electronic files.
Also available will be 20 five-drawer file cabinets containing “customer end user information.”
Separate lots available for purchase will include new and partially completed Washex and Lavatec machines; Washex purchased parts inventory; Washex machine parts work-in-progress; and Washex specialty manufacturing machines.
Headlining the Dec. 16 offerings will be a large quantity of specialized equipment and fixtures for manufacturing washer drums and components; and a sizable raw-material inventory, including structural steel and stainless materials.
Public inspection will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time on Dec. 14. Internet bidding will be an option during the second day of the sale. All prospective online bidders must be registered and approved no later than 48 hours before the auction begins.
