PHILADELPHIA – Cintas Corp., the largest corporate uniform supplier in North America, is building a 58,000-square-foot laundry processing facility on a roughly 12-acre site that it’s purchasing here, according to Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell.
The new facility is expected to be operational in August. The Governor’s Action Team, which serves as a single point of contact for businesses that are evaluating Pennsylvania as a site for a facility location or expansion, is assisting Cintas with a $75,000 opportunity grant for its $14.8 million project.
Cintas will create at least 150 new jobs and retain 1,564 existing positions, according to Rendell. The Fortune 500 company operates three other facilities in the greater Philadelphia area.
“A multi-state company is creating a significant number of new jobs in an urban neighborhood and Philadelphia’s largest advertising agency (Digitas Health) is expanding its presence and creating new high-paying professional positions,” Rendell says. “These things don’t happen by accident. They happen because the proactive investments we’ve made in our communities over the past five years are helping to create jobs and make a significant difference.”
