NEW YORK — As the economy and hospitality industry shows steady signs of progress, this year’s edition of the International Hotel/Motel + Restaurant Show® (IHMRS) will serve the important role of informing and educating as the industry prepares for business in a new economy, says GLM, the show’s longtime management firm.
The latest products and services from more than 700 exhibitors, education focused on business growth and opportunity in a new economy, and a co-location with Boutique Design New York, a new hospitality interiors fair, will highlight the 95th annual event slated for Nov. 13-16 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
Some 30,000 professionals are anticipated to attend the hospitality industry’s premier North American event, in addition to 3,000 designers, architects and developers at Boutique Design New York.
Manufacturers representing every product category within the hospitality industry—including food and beverage, furnishings, technology, equipment, linens, amenities, tableware, cleaning and more—will showcase their latest technologies, products and services to the industry’s most influential buyers, including lodging and restaurant owners and operators, purchasing companies, owner groups, design firms, catering and specialty foodservice establishments, equipment dealerships, casinos, resorts and more.
Categories related to laundry services, linens and apparel will be served by a number of exhibitors.
Boutique Design New York will feature more than 200 interior product manufacturers of high-end, unique and innovative design products for hospitality.
“The latest trends, perspectives and products can all be found at the IHMRS, offering guidance as industry professionals navigate a new business culture in 2010 and beyond,” says Lynn White, show manager. “These elements, combined with a new co-located hospitality interiors fair, will set the stage for the only industry event you need to attend all year.”
A full-day conference for senior-level hospitality managers, the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Hospitality Leadership Forum, returns on Nov. 13. Seminars will address such topics as minimizing the cost of turnover, the future of hospitality and travel in 2015, marketing’s ROI, operational trends in boutique hotels, utilizing mobile devices to improve hotel operations, and more.
Highlighting the event will be the annual CEO Leadership Panel and U.S. Lodging Industry Summit Panel, each featuring notable industry leaders addressing key topics.
This year’s keynote features two former members of Congress who’ll provide an insider’s view of the political landscape just one week after the mid-term elections.
“Education plays a pivotal role at the IHMRS,” White says. “This year, the program lineup will help attendees prepare for the future with trend reports, state-of-the-industry presentations and timely discussions on how to attract and market to today’s customers,” White says.

A discounted registration fee of $30 is available through Oct. 8, with the rate increasing to $50 per person after that date. This fee applies to events taking place Nov. 14-16. A separate fee of $139 is required for the Hospitality Leadership Forum on Nov. 13.
