RICHMOND, Ky. – The Association for Linen Management (ALM) has approved a slate of officer candidates for election during its national conference this summer and Bart Carpenter, a laundry production coordinator from Oregon, is running unopposed for the association’s presidency.
Carpenter, who is currently ALM’s senior vice president, works at Oregon Correctional Enterprises, Deer Ridge Correctional Institution, in Madras, Ore.
Richard Hoelscher, associate director of linen services for Parkland Health and Hospital System, Dallas, and Randy Wendland, laundry manager at Port Huron (Mich.) Hospital/HHA Services, will vie to succeed Carpenter as senior vice president.
Thomas Mantey, external accounts manager, Commonwealth Linen Services, Roanoke, Va., has filed for administrative secretary, a post currently held by Jay Ketelsen, Campus & College Laundry, La Selva Beach, Calif.
Incumbents who are running unopposed are vice president Wes Breedlove, director of linen service, Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby, N.C.; and chief financial officer Bill Smith, director of EVS operations, South Region of ARAMARK Healthcare, Madisonville, Ky.
ALM members will elect officers in June during the association’s business meeting in Jacksonville, Fla. The winners will serve until 2010.
ALM describes itself as “the premier educational source for people and organizations that purchase, process, distribute and manage the use of linens and other textile products.” It’s one of six industry associations that co-sponsor the Clean Show.
